Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement initiated by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, inviting Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ.
Using the hashtag #ThyKingdomCome, parishes have been encouraged to participate and share in this global call to prayer, and here at Wanstead Parish, our youth group, Signpost, joined forces with other youth groups in the newly commissioned West Roding MMU (Mission and Ministry Unit).
Friday evening saw the group taking part in a #ThyKingdomCome 4-church walk between our joint partnership churches starting at St Mary’s Woodford and ending at St Gabriel’s Aldersbrook, where they enacted the stations of the Lord’s Prayer. After all that walking, they also enjoyed a well deserved pizza!
This coming Friday 18th May from 8-10pm in Christ Church parish hall Signpost are hosting a special #ThyKingdomCome event for young people and other deanery youth groups across Redbridge, with prayer space, talks and other activities. Join us in this global movement of prayer!
New members (11-14yrs) are always welcome. We meet in the Parish Hall next door to Christ Church on the 2nd & 4th Friday of each month (except Christmas, Easter & summer school holidays) from 8 to 9.30pm.
