Christian Aid Week 2019 runs from 12-18th May. This year’s theme focuses on the charity’s work supporting mothers and their children in Sierra Leone – the most dangerous country in the world to give birth.

Wanstead Parish are running a series of events to spread the word.

First up is a Big Brekkie to be held after the 9am service on Sunday 12th May at Christ Church (running from 930-1030am). Organised jointly by our youth council and our 9am Sunday congregation, they will be serving a simple continental style breakfast that includes fresh coffee and tea, juice, toast, muffins, fruit etc.  In return we ask for donations for Christian Aid.

On Saturday 18th May, St Mary’s opens her doors once more. Alongside the usual visits to the church and churchyard, the team will be firing up the BBQ and offering a Big BBQ Brunch.

Please do come along and support these events and give generously!

On Sunday 19th May, we welcome Andy Campbell from Christian Aid to speak about how Christian Aid empowers people throughout the world. The 25 minute talk will be in  Christ Church parish hall after the 10am service and there will be time for questions afterwards. There will be no sermon during the 10am service.
