Georgian Music Concert
September 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
The beautiful surroundings of our Grade I listed St Mary’s provides the perfect setting to hear Georgian music performed on period instruments.
Georgian London was dominated by Handel’s music. The first organist of St Mary’s, a Mr Samuel Kemm, was also a countertenor and took part in performances of Handel’s oratorios at Westminster Abbey and Drury Lane Theatre.
This concert will feature some of Handel’s best music, both instrumental and arias from his operas, with the period instruments of The Great Guise Music ensemble capturing the sounds of Georgian London.
Performance from 6-7pm, followed by refreshments. Free entry – all welcome!
