Oral history training
February 8 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
On Saturday 8th February, Wanstead Parish and Eastside Community Heritage will be offering a unique opportunity to develop and gain new skills through oral history training. Training younger people to interview their parents, grandparents or older members of the community will hopefully shine a new light for future generations, recording for posterity the voices of those whose history might otherwise be forgotten.
Designed to be family friendly and ideal for children aged 10+ (plus parents, care givers, grandparents etc) the skills and techniques acquired by engaging in an oral history based project are numerous – not just confined to history lessons but also across the national curriculum including art, media, technology, geography, and English language.
Free event – all welcome. Please feel free to share to any schools or colleges.
