Wanstead Fringe: Crypt Tours

The crypt at St Mary’s church in Overton Drive is a fascinating slice of Wanstead past. This is your chance to go on an evening tour to see the tombs where some of Wanstead’s great and good ended up.

The tours will last 30-45 minutes, and are limited to 8 per tour, to avoid getting too crowded. Access to the crypt is difficult – there are steep stairs, a constricted access tunnel and spaces which may feel claustrophobic. Proceeds will go toward improving access to the crypt.
