Come and join our fun and friendly Parish Choirs
With over 25 members, the parish choir sings to a high standard in our services throughout the year. New members are always welcome – please contact the Parish Office for more details.
Adult Choir
The Parish Adult Choir enjoys good coverage across all voices and sings to a high standard – often ably supported by the Parish Junior Choir.
The choir divides to sing Sunday morning Eucharists at both churches, then comes together once a month to sing in alternate churches. The full choir also sings Choral Evensong on the first Sunday of the month at Christ Church at 6pm; Evensong in a Cathedral once a year; with other local churches on Feast Days such as The Ascension; and is available to sing at baptisms, weddings and funerals.
Choir practice takes place on Friday evenings, usually at Christ Church from 7.30 – 9pm. The choir is a social group and often goes out after practice or performances.

Junior Choir
Our fun and dynamic junior choir consists of boys and girls aged between seven and 17, rehearsing on Friday evenings for up to an hour from 6.45pm. They sing with the adult choir at Sunday morning services in both churches; at Junior Choral Evensong once a month in School Term time at 5 pm in Christ Church; as well as in their own right on special occasions. Their musicality and enthusiasm are always a delight and a great asset to our parish choir.
We have a long history of training our younger voices on the Royal School of Church Music Award Scheme. Juniors train towards each level at their own pace and according to their age and experience. Members also receive a small stipend for each rehearsal and service.
