Last Saturday the parish pilgrimage to Ely Cathedral took place. A large group of 24 parishioners came and it was a great success.
The day began with Morning Prayer led by Father Richard in the Lady Chapel, the largest in England.
Thank you to Vivienne Robinson, a former parishioner who now lives near Ely, for these photos.
Interested in more trips like this? Next year Fr Richard will be leading a pilgrimage in ‘The footsteps of the northern saints’, based in Durham and visiting some of the holy sites in the North East. It will run from Monday to Friday 20 to 24 July 2020 at a cost per head of £695, with practically everything included, except travel to and from Durham. There will be no single room surcharge as the group shall be using university accommodation.
Brochures and application forms are now available. For these and any questions you may have, contact Fr Richard who will be leading the pilgrimage, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide.
The parish also intends to offer two retreats next year. One from 27th to 29th March 2020 led by members of our MMU team at Pleshey, Chelmsford Diocese’s retreat house, and the other from 12 to 14th June 2020 at Douai Abbey led by Canon Ann. If you would be interested in attending either or both of these retreats then please could you let Lorraine in the parish office know.
