Church school Admission
We are working closely with the Governors of Wanstead Church School to ensure that the twice-monthly church worship requirement for admission to Wanstead Church School is suspended, from March 2020 to the end of August 2020, due to the difficulties of attendance during this time. We will update you as we have more news. If you have any questions, please email Father Jack in September. Please note: services in August, including via Zoom, will run as advertised.
Lorraine, our Parish Administrator, will be back for two days per week (days to be advertised soon) from 26th August, 2020. She will be working from home but she will be answering parish emails and also picking up messages from the parish telephone.
Lauren, our Hall Bookings Manager, will be working for the parish for limited hours each week from 27th July, 2020. Please contact her about all Hall bookings in the normal way.
APCM – including election of Church Wardens, Deputy Church Warden and PCC members
APCM Sunday 27th Sept 2020 – details to follow including Electoral Roll revision.
If you would like to stand for the PCC or to be a Church Warden or Deputy Church Warden, please let me have any expressions of interest by 6 pm on Monday 7th September, 2020.
Our Annual Report is in the weekly email; paper copies will be available in both churches in August and September.
Any questions regarding the 2019 report please write to me by 6 pm on Monday 7th September 2020.
Written answers will be provided before the APCM.
The PCC has agreed to begin the process for the replacement of the near-irreplaceable Canon Ann with another House for Duty Priest. The advert is in the Church Times now and interviews will be held in mid-September 2020.
If you would like to make a contribution to Canon Ann’s leaving present please contact Avril Carnelley .
Canon Ann’s last services in the parish will be on Sunday 6th September 2020 when she will be at the 9 am and 10.30 am services in Christ Church and at the 11.15 am service in St. Mary’s.
As we begin to bring members of our staff team back from the Government furlough scheme and start to extend our ministry in the parish further, the financial situation still remains bleak. We need to maintain and if possible, increase our levels of giving.
The best way to do this is via Planned Giving. To join the Parish Giving Scheme, you can call 0333 002 1260 or email firstname.lastname@example.org (Parish Scheme No: 080608162). Online donations can be made at https://pay.churchdesk.com/-fK0f9VBm.
Please contact the treasurers at email@example.com with any questions.
I hope that you all have a very restful and safe summer. Please don’t forget to use your face masks in church!
With much love, as ever
