Kneelers for Christ Church Event

We are now nearing the end of the Wanstead Community Kneeler Project which will take place at the same time as the Wanstead Festival on 13th September. Our celebrations will run in Christ Church from 12 noon to 5pm as follows:  

 

11.00 - 12.00

Decorate a 'Kneeler Cake' - entries of home-made or bought rectangular/tray bake cakes decorated as a kneeler should be brought to Christ Church. Entrants will have the opportunity to donate their entry for silent auction. 

 

12.00 - 16.00

Vote for your favourite cake & leave a silent bid for any cake you fancy - all proceeds to the 'Inspire' project.

 

12.00 - 17.00 

Display of artifacts and stories of the 'behind the scenes' tales of some of the kneelers.

 

Sale of Friendship bracelet kits using yarns from the kneelers; Guidebooks; sewing ephemera from the project - all monies to  the 'Inspire' project.

 

Where is it? - a photo trail inside Christ Church to use close observation skills - aimed at under 12's but fun for everyone (No prizes)

 

15.00 - 15.30

Come one, come all regardless of age or ability and learn the 'Kneelers' song written especially for the project led by the composer - Tina Lloyd-Morris.

Collection of cake entries and auction lots.
